The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed receiving an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1.
According to the NCAA, the incident occurred on 5 August 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and reportedly involved unruly conduct that obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft — a violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (2023).
Police Investigation Underway
In response to the petition, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to launch a thorough investigation into the matter.
The probe will focus on uncovering the full circumstances surrounding the alleged incident and ensuring that justice is served.
Commitment to Aviation Safety
The Police have reassured the public and aviation stakeholders of their unwavering commitment to safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector. The Force also pledged to work closely with the NCAA and other stakeholders to enforce strict compliance with aviation laws.
