The Leadership and Accountability Initiative Summit has officially submitted visa ban petitions against Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State to the United States Embassy and the United Kingdom High Commission in Abuja.
“Not on our watch will charlatans desecrate the very democracy we fight for”#
.
Governor Okpebholo has publicly demonstrated conduct unbecoming of a leader in a democratic society. In a widely circulated video, he is heard declaring that Mr. Peter Obi “must not visit Edo State,” claiming he could not guarantee the safety of the Labour Party presidential candidate.
This is not just reckless — it is dangerous.
It is a blatant attack on:
• Freedom of movement
• Democratic engagement
• Basic human rights

✊ Next Step: Protest at the UN Headquarters, Abuja
The world must not look away.
The world must see the true character masquerading as a governor in Edo State.
We will continue to expose and resist all anti-democratic actions, no matter how highly placed the individuals involved may be.
⸻
📢 Let it be known:
We are watching.
We are mobilizing.
We will not be silent.
